Headlights Polished

Recommended Posts

Did this a while back. Clear coats on the headlights were starting to peel and lights seemed to be turning yellowish. Got some fine sandpaper ( cant remember the grids), water sandpaper, some rubbing compound. Started by sanding off all clear coat, then water sandpapered and then polished with the compound and then with some leftover liquid polish I had in the garage. I think it came out great for real cheap. Here's a before and after pic of driverside light I've done. Unfortunately I did not take more pics of the whole process. batery2e.jpgejuny2az.jpg

looks like a good result for what sounds like a cheap job to do

Funny, I was doing this to a Clio yesterday, ideally you want 2400 grit to start and 6000 or 12000 to finish.

Looks good

Ages ago I bought some glass polish for my machine polisher but have never got round to using it, perhaps when I finish playing around with the passion wagon I will give it a go.

Not just for looks, but makes a huge difference at night too
