kam-325i 5 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Is there a reason why the selespeed system likes to be left in gear when the car is parked up ?
K9d 108 Report post Posted January 27, 2014 I don't think it likes to be left in gear or not, it can be left in gear if you wish. If you give the lever a tap to the right when you stop it will knock it into neutral, I find if I leave mine in gear it can delay me for a few seconds because it won't start until it can put itself into neutral. Smaky 73 Report post Posted January 27, 2014 You'll find it's because you should never rely on the handbrake, all the car is doing is reminding you of the manual and highway codes guidelines.

K9d 108 Report post Posted January 28, 2014 I didn't need the handbrake in that situation, between parking it on its side and the Citroen van it wasn't going anywhere.
