Gibot123 16 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 There is a Brit series they show on itv4 sometimes too . They used to run the metro 6R4 years back and escort XTrac mk2 ' s oh not forgetting the the original minis . Just thought it was good to see it back several different classes including the starter class 2WD cars too.
LJ_GQV 115 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 think they had a few of these cars at goodwood FoS when i went there a couple of years ago. i love the FoS, actually seeing the cars being used for what they were built to do and not just parked up for people to look at there was all sorts on the rally stage
Gibot123 16 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 Yes a bit mad I only live about 30 miles away and never seem to have the money to go. One day I will have a job that will allow me to live rather than just barely exist . I have promised myself to make it to the British Grand Prix and Goodwood . It's the classic race meeting there this weekend . The Revival.
LJ_GQV 115 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 It is a great day, can work out expensive though. i usually save up and buy my dad a ticket for fathers day then we both go on the friday as its not as expensive. i have been a couple of times now, 1st was the 100 years of Alfa Romeo which meant they had a lot of cars over from the museum in Italy and they all went up the hill 1 crashed though last year i got an invite from an Alfa/Abarth dealership and went on the thursday which is press day and the moving motorshow and got to drive a 500 Abarth up Goodwood hill with an instructor saying don't slow down then i went again the next day

Gibot123 16 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 Yep I'll have to wait to see it all on the telly. Sounds like you've had a great time though when you've been . I would normally use the kids as an excucuse to try and make it a family thing but neither are interested in anything that's not on a computer screen . Maybe one day I'll keep hoping . LJ_GQV 115 Report post Posted September 14, 2013 maybe we could organise an AD outing next year? its cheaper on the friday and less busy (its still manic though) i have never been on the saturday or sunday but have heard you can't see much. i met a couple of touring car drivers the 1st time i went, saw ken block going up the hill, there were a couple of F1 drivers there and quite a few of the teams had cars there. all the old classics were still going strong too and racing up the hill and you get to smell all the old car smells as they are working on them in the 'pit' areas and driving them past

K9d 108 Report post Posted September 15, 2013 I went to FOS in the Alfa centenary year, got free tickets from AO, that was when Ian owned it and it was a good place. Was a cracking day out, the tickets were Alfa hospitality ones so we got to go in the Alfa VIP stand and there was free food and drink all day long. Plan to do the whole 3 days one year, there's too much to see in one day.
