Might aswell add my input to the relevant section, have had two 214 SEi's one British Racing Green and one Nightfire Red. The BRG one was written off by an ex :rant: and the NFR one stolen by my friends pikey ex landlord :( anyway I digress :LOL:

Yup, and dont tell anyone I said this, but its also a bloody hoot to drive!

Its not quick by any means, but its the closest thing I've driven to an old mini when it comes to handling.

I've been trying to convince her we could dump a saxo vts lump in there without her boss noticing but she's not going for it :(

Actually tbh, I've seen evidence of the C1's handling.

Rich and I were blatting round some windy little Southern France D roads, having an enormous hoot in the van, and we got behind a C1 when we came into a little village, which then proceeded to continue along the route we were taking for about six miles of twisty, undulating, camber/off cambered, horribly surfaced twisty roads that had our adrenaline up enormously.

We managed to keep up with this C1, Rich pushing quite hard in the van, which I have to say, handles fantastically now it's dropped and stiffened a little.

Got to the next little town, passed the C1 as it turned off and I looked over to find a fat 50y/o woman behind the wheel.

Well, alright.

If everyone else is doing it.

My first Rover, my second car - the first one I loved enough not to mistreat;

1991 214 SLi.

My current long term project;

As you may notice, she's missing an arch. And a chunk of sill. The rot has been cut out, and currently she's waiting for me to man up and get some welding practice before having a crack at banging some new sills and arch sections onto her myself, as a bit of a learn by doing crash-course.

My 1992 Rover 216 GTi TwinCam;

Hm.

:grump:

My 1998 Rover 820 Vitesse;

Now missed, horribly, every time I think about it.

:cry:

Maybe it's sad, but it actually broke my heart when I finally made myself get her picked up, and watched her fork-lifted onto a flatbed transit.
