K9d 108 Report post Posted June 14, 2013 Old thirsty cars are great, cheap as chips, no penny pinching when they were made, don't need to get too precious about them and if they go badly wrong scrap em.

twisted_pr 16 Report post Posted June 14, 2013 Old cars ROCK. That's usually because the shocks are shot. Oh, wait, I see Yep, they do - easier to work on and built using proper stuff.
Morgan 46 Report post Posted June 14, 2013 And unless they are bonafide classics, cost pennies to buy. Having had a less than satisfactory experience with a "newer" car (the newest I've ever owned, in fact), I reckon I'm going to slip back into my old habit of buying old barges. Oh look, I already did.

LJ_GQV 115 Report post Posted June 20, 2013 Just seen some dodgy looking bloke drive into an underground carpark, stay there for less than 30 seconds & then drive straight out again my guess is he couldn't find a space big enough & after bouncing off 3 other cars, gave up to go & park somewhere else
twisted_pr 16 Report post Posted June 20, 2013 Well dodgy. Would never buy a "good as new" Golf Derv from him.
Morgan 46 Report post Posted June 20, 2013 Bloody hell LJ, are you stalking me?!?!? For the benefit of everyone else, that is actually my car, not just any old random green BMW. The blurry-looking two storey building with the grey roof in the distance is my office. The car park was completely full when I returned to the office after lunch, so I was touring the town looking for a parking space. By the time I'd finished faffing around, and went back to my works car park, a space had become available. Tell you what, though... That LJ is bloody scary!!! LJ_GQV 115 Report post Posted June 20, 2013 I know where you live, and i know where you work i saw a bluey/green colour bmw coming towards me & thought "hmm, just like Morgan's..." As you got closer & turned right into the carpark i realised it was you it sounded pretty good too from what i could hear i tried to get your attention by flashing () but obviously you didn't see me parked behind a post van. If you were 15-20 seconds later a black merc amg estate started up & pulled out of the car park. Must have been a bit slippy as it wheelspun a bit out of there & sounded amazing

K9d 108 Report post Posted June 20, 2013 As good as a Busso V6 ?
Morgan 46 Report post Posted June 24, 2013 As good as a Busso V6 ? In a word, no. Where the Busso shouts, hollers and wails, the BMW M52 speaks a more refined language, that of Teutonic power. Personally, I like all the shouting, hollering and wailing. It's a good sound, but it ain't no Busso V6.
