How did your bella do? General tips?

Recommended Posts

ok, I'll be honest... the "alfa hater" fella that tested her had to heat the engine properly until it pass on emissions, but it was pretty straight forward ;) I think she has a half faulty stat that does not heat the engine properly...

Divo cost just under £500 to get through MOT last Monday, the most ever (plus I'd just replaced one of P zeros). Upper/lower wishbones were main expense. handbrake has never been right since it was totally f*cked up last year at another MOT place, so that needed putting right too amongst other things.

Seriously poor now, but hey.....it's only money. Divo is like a new car.

So 4 wishbones, a tyre and a handbrake adjust? £500, not bad.

Did they rewind the calipers when they reset the handbrake? Otherwise problems will be back soon.

In total £500 + £120 for the Pirelli.

Sure they did re handbrake - always used to go to these guys before and they're meticulous.

147 failed on

001 Nearside rear, suspension component mounting corroded.

002 Nearside front Anti-roll bar linkage rubber bush deteriorated

003 Offside as above

004 Nearside Front suspension has excessive play in an upper suspension ball joint.

Estimated cost £450

It did cross my mind to scrap it, but that moment soon passed. :)

Perhaps I should sort the dent on the 156 then, trouble with my 156 is its like a old pair of shoes when I put it on (get in) it just feels right, if I replace it things won't feel right.

You definitely need to keep the GTA running, its a future classic.

Yep keep telling myself that, the only thing that will keep it off the road is when we run out of petrol

Another 12 months and no advisory. Not bad for 13 years and the thick end of 200k miles.

Better than my 13 year old, 200k 156 SW then.

2 x CV Boots, brake pipe, 4 x tyres (I knew this would be the case), exhaust hanger and some rust issues.

If it wasn't for the rust I would fix it, but now I have a replacement its going the spares/repairs route. :(
