'Range Limited'

Recommended Posts

The petrol light came on yesterday but i didnt have time to fill it up when i was out. Just come out to fill up now & put 56 & a bit liters in (by the receipt) but it still beeps & says range limited/light is on. The needle hasn't budged either

Im guessing its a float type thingy in the petrol tank but could it have dropped with the petrol level & got stuck down?

If it is stuck, can i unstick it?

Just turned it on/off as that usually fixes stuff & the needle has gone up a bit, not to full though? :(

turn the ignition to MAR, open the drivers door, grab the roof tight and shake the car as hard as you can side to side and try to get it bouncing, watch the fuel gauge as it rises.

Find the fuel tank access panel, take out the sensor, hit it with a hammer.

Reverse to re-fit.

Hth

Kthxbye
