Sphinx 7 Report post Posted February 19, 2012 Vauxhall is now doing the Maloo and Clubsport versions! I quite frankly couldn't give a flying if it's got a Vauxhall badge...underneath it's a Maloo/Holden. I WANT ALL THREE http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/microsite/vxr ... ndex.shtml

Sphinx 7 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Meh. Meh?! It's easier than Importing a Maloo
jhc 28 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 I'd rather pay the extra for an import than drive something with vauxhall badges.
Morgan 46 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 I'd rather pay the extra for an import than drive something with vauxhall badges. Vauxhalls are fine if you're a photocopier salesman, but for everyone else, the name just conjures up images of, er, photocopier salesmen. EDIT: That's not to take anything away from those Holdens, mind you... They're very nice indeed.
Sphinx 7 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 I couldn't care less about the Vauxhall badge though. The VXR Vauxhall badge conjures up images of chavs to me...and that VXR8 is pretty damn chavvy. Wouldn't care though, people could call me a chav as I go past them sideways in a cloud of smoke
jhc 28 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Every single good car in vauxhall's history has been bought in by them. You would think a company as vast and rich as gm could bolt together just one car that isn't dull/shit... But no. Useless glory stealing ####s.
Kev Bassett 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Id own a VXR8... Prefer the Bathurst Edition though! Its a GM engine on a GM owned chassis being branded by a GM UK outfit... So what if its chavvy, pisses all over the other VXR range by looks alone.
jhc 28 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Its a holden.
Kev Bassett 1 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Its a holden. Owning company is GM.

jhc 28 Report post Posted February 20, 2012 Its a holden. Owning company is GM. Yes. they saw a good car and bought it. Its a holden. (with gm badges)

Morgan 46 Report post Posted February 21, 2012 Every single good car in vauxhall's history has been bought in by them. Er, apart from the one co-developed by Lotus.
jhc 28 Report post Posted February 22, 2012 That was included in my statement. There's about as much vauxhall in the lotus (the clue is in the name) carlton as there was in my post-breakfast shit this morning. They gave lotus a shitty barge, lotus changed just about everything on it. Then vauxhall claimed the glory... they're good at that. 'our flagship car is a massive bag of wank, what do we do?... should we try and develop it and make it into the car it could be, maybe make it sporty and drive well?' 'naaah, fuck that, pay a minion to do it for us then we can say it was our idea'
Morgan 46 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 It's still not "bought in", like the Holdens. The base car is still the Carlton.
jhc 28 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 Everything that makes it a noteworthy car is bought in.
Morgan 46 Report post Posted February 23, 2012 Everything that makes it a noteworthy car is bought in. The stock GSi 3000 24v (base car for the Lotus Carlton) was a good motor.
