Thanks for the research . I've seen all these on ebay. Problem with them is they hinge at the top and are then clipped in the bottom, where as the Alfisti ones have clip which is only removed from the bottom (had something similar to this on an old Vectra I had). I see the shape of the 156 number plate holder being a pain with the hinged surrounds (which I reckon would only not break if attached to something flat rather than curved). Maybe I should just take the punt on the cheapie ones, and see if they break.

Liking it here already. Seems a bit more friendly than some if the other forums I've used.

I like the look of these number plate surrounds http://shop.alfisti.net/Tuning-Styling/Alfa-147/Exterieur/License-Plate-Holder-Surround::6062.html but am reluctant to part with the high shipping cost (17.50 euro). Any one seen these available in UK, or anything else suitable for a 156 (with the STUPID front number plate holder!!) Cheers

Spotted this forum whilst playing with Tapatalk on my phone. Thought I'd come along and see what's going on. Got myself a 156 2.4 JTD 20v (2004). Loving my Alfa, pulls like a train!! Anyhow, Hi!!!!

Initially there was a vibration/shudder when under acceleration, most noticeable from 60 mph upwards. I have had the drive shafts re-conditioned, and the worst of the vibration has now stopped. But, I am still getting a shudder/vibration at around 35 to 50 mph. Don't really feel it under acceleration, mainly when cruising and most noticeable when off the accelerator pedal and slowing down. There is also a clunking noise coming from the front end when going over speed bumps, level crossings or potholes. I'm a bit green when it comes to technical stuff, so any input is really appreciated (in simple terms preferably, lol). Many thanks in advance
