  1. Had the pleasure of visiting clarkes Alfa Romeo Breakers in the West midlands today, really please with the service and price. Recommend to All. http://stores.ebay.c...-romeo-breakers
  2. The toe isn't right either. There's a 5mm difference between the two rear wheels but both a toe out.
  3. I agree I hate wasting money on replacing parts that turn out not to be faulty. The 1.9 156 jtd maf fault was even mentioned in last month a car mechanics magazine, saying to check egr and hoses before changing maf even though it's fault Code states it's an issue.
  4. I have poly hub bushes. But have the engine running now and pulled car out of garage did a primitive check using a spirit level and there is a definite difference in the camber of the rear wheels. Using the centre hub of the wheel, and a spirit level there is a 12mm gap between the spirt level (held level) and the top of the wheels hub on the NS, it's about 3mm on the OS. I know it's not really accurate but it's enough for me to be suspicious of the camber.
  5. Checked the hoses, but a new MAF sorted the issue...
  6. Light s back on, going to try my spare MAF and seem it its ok, although i havnt checked the shrt term fuel trim using MECUscan yet i must find time to do that be for i change anything.
  7. Alex, i've found that with the JTS prior to my thread lock mis-hap that 10-40 semi synth gets no oil usage and emmisions are bang on if the oil rings are changed (honeing i meant glaze busting but i think you knew that lol). I'd rather frequent oil changes and 10-40, as i feel the only reason AR went to 10-60 on the JTS was due to its oil usage... I'd would also say that if you have a tired TS engine that using oil 10-60 might be an option...
  8. The issue is on the Sports wagon, i'm a few hour in the garage away from having the engine running again and i will check it out when i get the car back on the drive.
  9. I put a rebuild thread on AO.com. http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-147-156-and-gt/192582-biffas-jts-has-decided-to-become-ill-at-70-m4.html#post2966378
  10. Yes from my experience the oil usage is down to the single oil ring AR use. Once you've honed the bore, decoked the head and replaced the valve seals you should see very little oil use.
  11. Yes, map sensor has been cleaned. I've reset the mil again and I'm hoping it will stay off as for the first few runs the car was jerky and smoking below 2000rpm but above idle, so I think the ecu was learning the clean fuel trim.
  12. Right, had time on friday morning to take, the EGR and the Throttle body off to clean, my god there was some shit in there. Car seem to pull better but i think thats more in my mind than anything. I didnt have the time to remove the inlet manifold but i can see its another job for the list i've also got a glow plug fault which will get sorted when i take the manifold off.. Again i cleared the fault only for it to return, i have checked for leaks, cleaned the EGR and Throttle body, new air filter, i think its MAF time...
  13. tires are always set to correct pressure i'm almost paranoid about it.
  14. It's the inside of the tyre. Both rear wheel bearings were changed couple of years ago. On a newer tyre when it wears it looks like it's saw teeth. I feel it's toeing in.
