Persistent Front End Knock - 156 Gta - Solved

Recommended Posts

I've got an annoying knock in the front suspension, driver side. Mostly it clunks as the wheel drops down, not up and on sharp bumps..

Thing is, everything is new in there..

The only thing I havent replaced is the Top mounts and the Dampers. Even the tie rod ends are new.

Could top mounts or dampers make this noise?

My top mounts use to squeak until Smaky changed them. I suppose they could if the bushes are shot.

Have you changed the anti roll bar droplinks?

I had a front end knock on my gta, every time I braked or went over some bumps, only happened after I had new bottom arms fitted. One bolt wasnt quite tight enough

Thats exactly what happened with me... But all bolts checked.. And tight.

New swaybar bushes, new tie rod ends, new uppers...

Just dampers and top mounts are old.

Turned out to be faulty bushes on the new lower wishbones :Skull:

New bushes, problem solved. :)

Moral of the story - 'new' is not always the cure all we often think it is.
