There is a hollow recess under the alloy one... I guess I'll just have to try it. If it doesn't work I'll refurb the old one and put it back in. I've pulled so hard on it I'm afraid I'll break the gear linkage... tried to soften the glue with a heat gun, wiggled, waggled etc. but no joy. There must be a trick to it...
