Smaky 73 Report post Posted January 3, 2012 First remove the door card, not forgeting to remove the 2 screws behind the speaker and the tringle trim panel, Now peel back the foam liner and remove the rod guard panel and window guide rail, with those removed you can release the 2 rods from the handle assembly. Next remove the Torx screw fome the edge of the door and the 10mm nut from the inside, you can then gently remove the handle from the door rotating it out step by step. Remove the 3 x #1 phillips screws to release the lock assmebly from the handle. Using Plusgas clean the lock (WD40 is no good for this), ensuring that the O-ring is clean and in good order, the area next to the pin is clear and that the button moves freely when pressed, lubricate the lock O-ring with Vaseline and rebuild. Sooty Si 1 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Nice one Smaky, did both of mine last week. Needed new o-rings, but a quick look through the parts bins at work sorted that out. :im Not Worthy:
alfizta 6 Report post Posted April 18, 2014 did this some days ago when repairing the window regulator. didn't get to the O ring :Rolling Eyes:, but cleaned what I could and it's apparently good and working... easier to take the lock off the door if you rotate it 180º and press the button. thanks again, Smaky!
